General Information

  • Adult swim only M-F from 12:00 - 1:00 pm
  • 2 lanes are available for lap swim at all times
  • Free fitness orientations are available for members wanting to learn how to use the nautilus equipment in our fitness center.

Pool Rules

  • No gum is permitted in the pool area
  • Appropriate swimming attire is required.  No cut-offs please!
  • Children under 9 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or a responsible person 15 years old while inside the aquatic area.
  • Children 6 years of age and under must be accompanied IN the water by an adult at all times.
  • Any child who is a non-swimmer must be accompanied by an adult IN the water at all times. ("swimmies" are permitted with parent in the water)
  • No running or "horseplay"
  • Splashing excessively is not permitted, please be considerate of others.
  • For your safety, flips, back dives, back jumps, or twists are not permitted from the sides of the pool.
  • Diving is permitted at depth of 9 feet of water only.
  • Diving blocks are for swim team and instructional use only.
  • Personal Floatation devices must be approved by the aquatics staff.
  • Noodles, balls, and other toys are allowed at the lifeguards discretion and must not inhibit the enjoyment of others.
  • No hanging or sitting on the safety lines.
  • Lap lanes are for continuous swimming only.
  • Completion of a swim test may be required before entering the deep areas of the pool.
  • The therapy pool is kept between 87 - 90 degrees.  Please refrain from any cardiovascular exercise.
  • No jumping in the therapy pool.

Any other guidelines deemed necessary for the safety and comfort of the bather will be enforced.

 

 


PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Certified YMCA Aquatic staff will give you one-on-one instruction in the water as you learn basic swimming skills or receive advanced instruction on skills you already know.  Please register at the Member Services Desk.

Fees: $15 per 1/2 hour for 1 participant
            $18 per 1/2 hour for 2 participants
            $20 per 1/2 hour for 3 participants

OLDER ACTIVE ADULT SPINNING        Instructor: Margie Graham
This class is designed for Active Older Adults and allows participants to enjoy spinning at a slower pace.

Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday               8:00 - 8:45 am

Fees: $2/class YMCA Members         $5/class Non-Members

MOVING MORE AQUA AEROBICS        Instructors: Amy & Jennifer
This class meets 5 days a week in the shallow end of the pool.  Everyone in the class works at their own pace. If you need to get started in an exercise program or need the support of others to keep you going, this is a great class for you!

Tuesdays and Thursdays   9:30 - 10:30 am

AQUATIC ARTHRITIS EXERCISE CLASS
This slow paced class uses specific stretching and strength movements recommended by the Arthritis Foundation YMCA Aquatic Program.  The class will work toward increased flexibility and balance while lowering pain levels and stiffness due to inactivity.  The class is conducted in the warm water pool. This is a great class for those with arthritis, recovering from injury or who just want to exercise. No swimming skills required.

Monday through Friday         10:00 - 11:00 am

Mondays and Wednesdays        6:00 - 7:00 pm

Fees: $1/class YMCA Members           $5/class  Non-Members

STRETCH AND FLEX        Instructor: Nickie Measel
This class is designed for those Active Older Adults that would like to work on strength and flexibility. It is a very low impact class, using weights, resistance bands, workout balls and a chair, to help with balance issues, bone density, flexibility, and overall agility. Most of all this is a time to meet with others that are going through the same changes in their lives and exercise is good for your MIND, BODY and SPIRIT!

Tuesdays and Thursdays        8:45 - 9:30 am

Fees: Free for YMCA Members         $5/class Non-Members

ZUMBA        Instructor: Lynn Workman
This new fitness craze combines Latin dance inspired moves into a workout routine. Come dance; have fun and work your way to a new level of fitness without even realizing it!!

Mondays and Wednesdays        6:00 - 7:00 pm
Saturdays        7:30 - 8:30 am

Fees: Free for YMCA Members         $5/class Non-Members

COUNTRY LINE DANCING        Instructor: Linda Peaco
Dates and times will vary due to variations in the instructor schedule. Please call the YMCA for more information.

Membership Information for Seniors

  • Seniors are categorized as persons over 62 years of age
  • New member membership rates are $270 + tax per year
    Senior Plus One ( 2 seniors) membership rates are $420 + tax per year
